The Federal Circuit affirmed in part, vacated in part, and remanded the decision of the Patent and Trial Appeal Board allowing substitute claims for You Map Inc.'s patent that discloses a system and method for location-based content delivery and visualization, in an inter partes review by Snap Inc. The court said that the board properly rejected Snap’s written description and single-reference obviousness challenges, but erred in its analysis of the motivation to modify a prior art reference.
