A federal district court in Indiana granted Batesville Casket Co. and Batesville Service LLC’s motion for leave to amend their responsive pleading to add a defense and counterclaim of inequitable conduct, in Vandor Group Inc.'s action for infringement of a patent for “B-Inserts” for caskets. According to the court, Batesville showed good cause to justify amending the pleading, and satisfied the heightened standard for pleading an inequitable conduct claim.
