The Federal Circuit affirmed a federal district court in Wisconsin’s decisions entering final judgment in favor of Apple Inc. in Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation’s action for infringement of a patent for a table-based data speculation circuit for a parallel processing computer. The appeals court affirmed the district court’s finding that WARF waived its doctrine-of-equivalents theory, as well as its finding that a second action accusing similar, next-generation Apple products of infringing the same patent was precluded by the first.
