Some challenged claims of Iarnach Technologies Ltd.'s patent that relates to a passive optical network are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board held, in an inter partes review by Charter Communications Inc. The board said that some claims are obvious over prior art that discloses a DOCSIS PON system that makes optical subscribers appear as cable subscribers, and titled “Communication System Using Passive Optical Network and Passive Optical Network.”
