Challenged claims of The Regents of the University of California’s patent that discloses a lead frame supporting a transparent plate and the III-nitride layers residing on the transparent plate are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board determined, in an inter partes review by Satco Products Inc.
