Sept. 23, 2022, 11:19 AM UTC

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board said that challenged claims of Sisvel S.P.A.'s patent that relates to scheduling radio resources for semi-persistent uplink/downlink packet data transmission in a cellular wireless communication system are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, in an inter partes review by TCT Mobile International Ltd., Cradlepoint Inc., Honeywell International Inc., Sierra Wireless Inc., and Thales DIS AIS Deutschland GmbH. The board said that the challenged claims are obvious over prior art that relates to the evolution of the 3G mobile communication as developed in the 3GPP standardization, and two published 3GPP meeting contributions.
