Challenged claims of Sightline Payments LLC’s patent directed to a system and method for moving money electronically into and out of various accounts associated with a casino gaming environment without cash are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board determined, in an inter partes review by Everi Payments Inc. According to the court, the challenged claims are obvious over prior art that relates to an electronic funds transfer system that transfers funds to a verified account using a player card, and to multiple account funds transfer in a wagering environment.
