Challenged claims of Feinics Amatech Teoranta’s patent that describes a booster antenna for a smart card are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said, in an inter partes review by Infineon Technologies AG. The board said that the challenged claims are obvious over prior art that describes a contactless IC card. And the board dismissed Infineon’s motion to strike.
