Case: Patents/Obviousness (Fed. Cir.)

The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that challenged claims of Medmix Switzerland AG’s patent directed to an arrangement for mixing and discharging fluids are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, in an inter partes review by Xinial Sys. GmbH & Co. KG. The court determined that the board’s didn’t err in its claim construction, and found that its motivation-to-combine findings were supported by substantial evidence.
