The Federal Circuit affirmed decisions of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that challenged claims of Eagle View Technologies Inc.'s patents that relate to systems and methods that allow estimates involving roofs on buildings to be created remotely are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, in inter partes reviews by Nearmap US Inc. The court said that the board’s claim construction and obviousness conclusions are supported by substantial evidence.
