The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that challenged claims of Largan Precision Co. Ltd.'s patent that concerns an imaging optical lens assembly comprising a five lens element aren’t unpatentable as obvious over prior art, in an inter partes review by Motorola Mobility LLC. The court found no reversible error in the board’s finding of no motivation to combine prior art references.
