The Federal Circuit affirmed decisions of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that challenged claims of Rideshare Displays Inc.'s patents are unpatentable as obvious over prior art, and reversed the board’s partial grant of Rideshare’s motions to amend, in inter partes reviews by Lyft Inc. According to the court, the board erred by finding that Rideshare’s substitute claims were directed to patent-eligible subject matter.
