The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of the District of Minnesota denying Polygroup Ltd.'s motion for judgment as a matter of law of obviousness and for a new trial on damages on Willis Electric Co. Ltd.'s action for infringement of a patent that relates to pre-lit artificial trees with decorative lighting. According to the appeals court, denial of Polygroup’s motion for JMOL of obviousness and for a new trial on damages was appropriate.
