PSI Pressure Systems LLC is granted summary judgment in this action for the infringement of NLB Corp.'s patent for a high-pressure pump having replaceable plunger/valve cartridges. To infringe Claim 33 literally, the valve head must be guided by the forward portion of a valve element, but the valve head in PSI’s accused NX-series products is not guided. And the doctrine of equivalents does not apply to PSI’s products, because the equivalent on which NLB relies — guiding with water — would “ensnare” the prior art.
