The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of a federal district court in Washington granting Google LLC’s motion to dismiss U.S. Patent No. 7,679,637 LLC’s action for patent infringement, as directed to patent ineligible subject matter. The appeals court said that the challenged patent claims are directed to the abstract idea of allowing asynchronous review of presentations and don’t contain an inventive concept.
