A federal district court in California granted in part and denied in part Talkdesk Inc.'s motion to dismiss Orion Labs Tech’s action for infringement of intelligent agent and bot messaging patents. The court said that most of the patents are directed to the abstract ideas of using intelligent agents to provide services to users within a communication group, or virtual assistants or bots in group communications, and don’t contain inventive concepts. According to the court, the representative claim of one patent isn’t directed to the abstract idea of translation.
