The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of a federal district court in California granting TikTok Inc.'s motion for judgment on the pleadings of invalidity on 10Tales Inc.'s action for infringement of a patent that concerns a system for customizing or personalizing content based on user social network information patent infringement. According to the appeals court, the patent claims are directed to the abstract idea of personalizing or customizing information based on information from the user and don’t provide an inventive concept.
