The Federal Circuit affirmed a federal district court in California’s determination that claims of Technology in Ariscale LLC’s patents that disclose a computer-implemented method for decoding a transmission signal are invalid, in this infringement action against Razer USA Ltd. According to the appeals court, the district court didn’t err by determining that the representative patent claim is directed to the abstract idea of receiving, manipulating, and decoding data, and doesn’t provide an inventive concept.
