The District of Delaware denied Verizon Communications Inc. and Cellco Partnership’s motion to dismiss OnePass Data Technology LLC’s action for infringement of patents that relate to systems and methods for cleansing and appending data records of a database. The court found that the patents are directed to the abstract idea of reading and searching multiple data files to create a new data file in one cycle, but that OnePass sufficiently pleaded facts alleging an inventive concept.
