Case: Patents/Claim Construction (Fed. Cir.)

The Federal Circuit affirmed a federal district court in Texas’s claim construction in Image Processing Technologies Inc.'s action against LG Electronics Inc. for infringement of a patent that relates to visual perception devices and devices for image processing using histogram calculation units. The appeals court said that the claim language and specification support the construction adopted by the district court, and that the construction wasn’t improperly broader than the broadest reasonable interpretation that the PTO applied when it construed the same claim term.
