The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of a federal district court in Virginia that Cisco Systems Inc. didn’t infringe Centripetal Networks LLC’s patents that relate to filtering packets of data for security threats when they are transferred between computer networks. According to the appeals court, the district court’s claim construction wasn’t clearly erroneous.
