The Federal Circuit vacated and remanded a federal district court in Pennsylvania’s judgment of noninfringement on Lambeth Magnetic Structures LLC’s action against Seagate Technology (US) Holdings Inc. and Seagate Technology LLC for infringement of a patent that relates to a thin film magnetic structure, magnetic devices, and method of producing the same. According to the appeals court, the district court’s judgment of noninfringement was premised on an erroneous construction of the claim term “uniaxial symmetry broken structure.”
