A federal district court in New Jersey construed disputed claim terms in Rigel Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s action against Annora Pharma Private Ltd., Hetero Labs Ltd., and Hetero USA Inc. for infringement of patents directed to compositions and methods related to the drug fostamatinib. The court construed “water” as “H2O” and “starch” as “a substance which contains the polysaccharide amylopectin and may also contain the polysaccharide amylose; the term includes native starches which have been modified by physical or chemical means.”
