Case: Patents/Attorneys’ Fees (Fed. Cir.)

The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of a federal district court in Texas denying FMC Technologies Inc.'s motion for attorneys’ fees and non-taxable costs in OneSubsea IP UK Limited, OneSubsea UK Limited, Cameron International Corporation, and OneSubsea LLC’s action for infringement of patents that relate to the subsea recovery of production fluids from an oil or gas well having a Christmas tree. The appeals court said that FMC didn’t show that OneSubsea’s claims were exceptionally meritless or that its actions were unreasonable.
