The Patent Trial and Appeal Board held that challenged claims of Osteomed LLC’s patent that discloses a system for securing bones together across a joint are unpatentable as anticipated by prior art, in an inter partes review by Stryker Corporation and Wright Medical Technology Inc. The board said that the challenged claims are anticipated by prior art that relates to an ankle fusion plate for fusion of the anterior.
