The Patent Trial and Appeal Board said that challenged claims of Entropic Communications LLC’s patent that relates to wideband receiver systems and methods having a wideband receiver are unpatentable as anticipated by and obvious over prior art, in an inter partes review by Comcast Cable Communications LLC. The board determined that the challenged claims are anticipated by and obvious over various combinations of prior art, including prior art that relates to digital multi-channel demodulation circuits, that discloses a method and apparatus for circuit partitioning and trace assignment in circuit design, and titled “Classical and Modern Receiver Architectures.”
