The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s denial of Uniloc 2017 LLC’s motion for rehearing in Hulu LLC’s inter partes review of Uniloc’s patent titled “System and Method for Adjustable Licensing of Digital Products.” The Federal Circuit found no mootness impediment to its jurisdiction to consider Uniloc’s statutory contention about the board’s authority to consider 35 U.S.C. § 101 eligibility for proposed substitute claims.
