A federal district court in New York granted an artist and sculptor’s request for a temporary restraining order to restrain the financial accounts used by individual seller stores operating via Amazon.com, eBay.com, Walmart.com, and other e-commerce platforms, based on allegations of advertising, promoting, offering for sale, or selling goods using or bearing unauthorized copies or derivatives of her works. The court found that the artist showed a likelihood that the stores violated federal copyright laws and may hide or transfer their assets unless the assets are restrained.
