A federal district court in California granted Invisible Narratives LLC’s ex parte application seeking a temporary restraining order against Next Level Apps Technology and enjoined Next Level from issuing false takedown notices under the DMCA. The court found that Invisible Narratives presented sufficient evidence that it was the lawful copyright owner of the “Skibidi Toilet” characters, and that Next Level knowingly misrepresented that copyright infringement had occurred when it issued takedown notices against Invisible Narratives’ YouTube channel. The court granted Invisible Narratives’ motion for a TRO.
