Quilt designer Karen Kay Buckley’s copyright and trade dress infringement suit against Universal Sewing Supply Inc., for allegedly selling, on Amazon.com Inc., quilting scissors with virtually the same packaging and design as Buckley’s, will not be dismissed for lack of personal jurisdiction. Instead, Buckley will be permitted limited jurisdictional discovery, after which the issue of jurisdiction may be raised again. The case is Buckley v. Universal Sewing Supply, Inc., 2019 BL 397107, M.D. Pa., No. 1:19-cv-794-SHR, 10/17/19.
