A federal district court in North Carolina denied Blueworks Corp.’s motion for judgment as a matter of law and in the alternative for a new trial following judgment in favor of Hayward Industries Inc. on this action for copyright and trademark infringement. The court found that Hayward provided evidence at trial of direct copying. And the court said that Hayward’s damages calculations relating to its false advertising claims were reasonable and supported by the evidence.
