A federal district court in California granted Apollo Global Management’s motion to dismiss Sybersound Recordings Inc.’s copyright infringement claim arising from the use of Sybersound’s YouTube videos in its karaoke business. The court found that Apollo’s streaming of videos constituted a transmission of audiovisual work and wasn’t actionable as a transmission of digital audio.
