The Ninth Circuit reverses the dismissal of Hydentra HLP Int. Ltd.'s copyright infringement case against Seychelles pornography producer Sagan Ltd. for lack of personal jurisdiction. Hydentra, a Cyprus-based producer of pornographic material, alleges in its U.S. complaint that Sagan posted Hydentra’s pornographic videos, without permission, on the Porn.com website, which is owned and operated by Sagan and defendants based in Barbados and Canada. Hydentra met its burden of showing that the claims arise out of Sagan’s purposeful direction of infringement to the U.S., and Sagan failed to show that exercising jurisdiction would be unreasonable and violate due process.
