The D.C. Circuit partially granted the Register of Copyrights and Director of the U.S. Copyright Office’s motion for an injunction against the Executive Office of the President and several individuals after she was notified that she had been terminated from her position effective immediately, the day after she released a prepublication version of a report analyzing the use of copyrighted materials to train generative artificial-intelligence models. The court granted the motion to the extent that the office and individuals are enjoined from interfering with the register’s service, pending further order of the court.
