Carl Zeiss Unit Blocks Rival’s Software In Trade Secret Fight

A Carl Zeiss Meditec AG unit won an order that temporarily blocks Topcon Medical Systems Inc. from releasing Glaucoma Module, a glaucoma diagnosis software, as part of the rival companies’ trade secret dispute.

Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California found Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc. had shown it was likely to succeed on claims of trade secret theft against Topcon and former employees. Armstrong also said CZMI would be irreparably harmed without an injunction.
