Canon Hit with Patent Suit Over Cameras, Printers Using Wi-Fi

Irish patent owner Malikie Innovations Ltd. accused Canon Inc. and its American subsidiary of infringing half a dozen patents through the creation and sale of digital cameras, printer products, and a mobile app.

Malikie began offering Canon a license to its patent portfolio in March 2024 but failed to secure an agreement despite multiple letters, emails, and meeting requests, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
