The owner of patents for specialized canned-soup racks for use at grocery stores won a $17 million verdict against Campbell’s Co.
Jurors in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois found Campbell’s and Trinity Manufacturing Inc. liable for infringement on Oct. 17, according to a minute entry entered into the docket Monday. Trinity owes $398,564 in addition to the $17 million award against Campbell’s. The court entered a verdict under seal and the clerk filed a public judgment form summarizing the result.
