California could soon join New York, Colorado, and Minnesota in passing legislation this year that would give consumers greater flexibility in repairing electronic devices such as smartphones or televisions.
The state’s right-to-repair measure (S.B. 244), authored by state Sen. Susan Eggman (D), has advanced unlike years past with bipartisan support, mirroring the success of similar bills in other state legislatures, said advocates.
