California Urges Court to End Catholic Pregnancy Center Case

California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) is asking a federal court to throw out an anti-abortion center’s lawsuit attacking an enforcement action he’d filed over the center’s allegedly false and misleading advertising about pill-induced abortion reversal.

The center’s suit is nothing more than a collateral attack on a state-court case by his office in September 2023, Bonta told the US District Court for the Southern District of California on Wednesday. Its claims should have been brought in the state-court action, even though it’s not a party to that case, because it’s “inextricably intertwined” with the state-court defendants, he said.
