An operator of senior-living homes will have to pay $6.3 million to a photographer for posting more than 40 of his images on its website without consent, a judge ruled.
The Tuesday judgment finalizes a December jury verdict finding Pacifica Senior Living Management LLC had willfully infringed Scott Hargis’ copyrights in 42 photos and owed him $150,000 in statutory damages for each infringed image, Judge Mark C. Scarsi of the US District Court for the Central District of California wrote.
