California Chief Justice Launches Generative AI Task Force (1)

A new artificial intelligence task force will lead research and development on the use of generative AI in California courts, the state Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero announced in a Judicial Council meeting on Friday.

The preservation of public trust, confidentiality and privacy, and judicial ethics are among the most important questions California courts should consider when determining how to use AI, the Council was told at its business meeting.
