Burberry Sues Musician ‘Burberry Jesus’ Over Trademark Use

Musician Marvel Yarbrough’s use of “Burberry Jesus” as his stage name infringes Burberry Ltd.'s trademarks, according to a complaint filed in Chicago federal court.

The British luxury brand told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Nov. 20 that Yarbrough has “gone to great lengths to create a Burberry-dependent persona,” including using Burberry’s logo on mixtape art, posting photos of himself on social media with Burberry merchandise, and posting photos of his cars wrapped in Burberry’s signature plaid design.
