Bungalow Seeks Court’s Help With Non-Practicing Patent Holder

Bungalow Living Inc. asked a California federal court for a declaration that its website doesn’t infringe a patent held by a firm that has asserted it in Texas federal suits against a lineup of companies including Nordstrom Inc., TJX Cos., and Dollar General Corp. as part of an alleged broader litigation pattern.

Locket IP LLC’s parent company, a Texas-based firm called IP Edge LLC, “utilizes a network” of non-practicing entities to file patent-infringement complaints “across the United States,” according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
