Bumble Says Match Used Fraudulent Negotiations to Prep IP Suit (1)

Bumble Trading Inc. has accused rival Match Group LLC of using fraudulent buyout negotiations to dig for information to prepare for an intellectual property lawsuit.

In a complaint filed March 28 in a Texas state trial court, Bumble alleged that Match Group—which owns Match, Tinder, OKCupid, Plenty of Fish, and other online dating brands—pretended to be interested in buying out Bumble, the company behind the woman-centered Bumble mobile dating app, to get confidential information for a wide-ranging infringement lawsuit against it.
