One of Warren Buffett’s companies is demanding that Boeing Co. hand over documents needed in a trade-secret fight over an advanced bolt that provides protection against lightning strikes in Boeing’s 787 and 777X aircraft.
SPS Technologies LLC, which does business as PB Fasteners, on May 20 sued in federal court in Chicago to enforce its subpoena for the Boeing documents.
The fastener maker wants the information to bolster its lawsuit against Briles Aerospace Inc. PB Fasteners accused its rival of misappropriating trade secrets essential for the manufacturing of the SLEEVbolt and disrupting its business with Boeing in the lawsuit.
