Boston Scientific Wins $158 Million From Cook in Patents Trial

Cook Group Inc. must pay Boston Scientific Corp. $158 million for infringing two patents related to clips used to prevent bleeding during surgery, a federal jury in Indiana said.

Jurors also found the infringement was intentional, giving the judge an option to increase the award by as much as triple, according to a verdict docketed June 9 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
