Boston Dynamics, Ghost Robotics Settle Cases on Robotic-Dog Tech

Boston Dynamics Inc. agreed to drop two patent-infringement lawsuits accusing Ghost Robotics Corp. of copying technology used to build its robotic dogs.

Judge Maryellen Noreika approved the parties’ joint stipulations of dismissal Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The settlements bar each side from renewing its claims or counterclaims.

Boston Dynamics first sued Ghost Robotics in November 2022 alleging two of its quadrupedal unmanned ground vehicles—specifically, its Vision 60 and Spirit 40 products—infringe as many as seven patents for “core technology” used in Boston Dynamics’ four- and two-legged robots such as Spot, designed for industrial ...
