A Bose Corp. surround sound system used in Porche’s Macan S is one of the targets of a bid for an imports ban based on a patent-infringement complaint filed with the US International Trade Commission over semiconductors and products containing them.
Bell Semiconductor LLC, a subsidiary of Hilco Global, filed the complaint Oct. 13, alleging that semiconductor devices—specifically, undiced and diced wafers; packaged chips; and chipsets both attached and unattached to printed circuit boards—infringe a patent that’s part of six pending district court cases the Bethlehem, Pa.-based company filed this month.
