Bosch Beats Westport Fuel-Injection Valve Patent Suit (2)

Robert Bosch LLC beat Westport Fuel Systems Canada Inc.’s patent infringement allegations over the manufacturing of fuel-injection valves sold to automakers.

Bosch didn’t infringe US Patent Nos. 6,298,829 and 6,575,138, according to a jury verdict filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The patents protect methods for high-pressure fuel-injection valves for vehicle engines.

A Bosch spokesperson said in an email the company is pleased with the verdict.

Lance Follett, Westport’s chief legal officer, said in an email the company is disappointed in the verdict and is considering next steps.
