German automotive giant BMW is facing accusations that it infringed three patents covering a technology for sharing information across components in an automobile.
In a complaint filed Monday in a Delaware federal court, Stragent LLC claimed that the Automotive Open System Architecture, also known as AUTOSAR—an enabling technology which has been standardized by a worldwide development partnership of vehicle manufacturers including BMW—violates its US Patent Nos. 10,031,790, 10,002,036, and 9,705,765, which deal with software for sharing information in a distributed framework.
